Kodak Gallery is an online photo sharing and print ordering service brought to you by one of the best known names in photography. The service is smooth, simple and easy to use, much like most other Kodak products. There aren’t as many sharing features as some of the sites we have looked at, but for ordering prints Kodak Gallery has one of the simplest and easiest to use ordering processes we have seen.

There are a number of different methods for uploading photos to Kodak Gallery. By far the simplest is the desktop based tool which lets you upload lots of photos at once simply by selecting them on your hard drive. However you can also just use a web browser, which is slightly slower, but just as easy. Finally, you have the option to upload directly from your mobile phone, just by accessing the site through its web browser. Once you have a few photos uploaded you are ready to start sharing them with your friends.

Kodak Gallery’s photo sharing features are well designed and fun to use. Our favourite part of it is the ability to create a nice looking online slideshow to share with your friends and family. Although many sites allow you to do this we particularly liked Kodak’s user interface which makes it very easy and fun. You can also share any of your albums with complete control over who gets to see what. You can specify whether users have to sign in to see your snaps or whether anyone can see them. If you specify that people have to sign in, you can track who has been looking at which photos – which could make it easier for you to create a customized gift for someone that they will especially like.

The process for ordering prints has been streamlined to make it as quick and easy as possible for you. There is a good range of options to choose from when ordering, but the process makes it easy to pick between different paper for your prints or colour enhancement processes. All you have to do is select the photos you want from your albums to put them in the photo tray and then zip through the checkout process. One thing we particularly liked was that you can send prints and gifts to lots of different people and addresses from the same order. That means you can do your whole Christmas shop from one website if you are feeling particularly lazy!

In all Kodak Gallery is a well designed and easy to use service. A lot of thought has gone into making the print ordering process as simple as possible and this has also carried over into the photo sharing facilities. The prices aren’t the cheapest around, but they’re not the most expensive either so if you don’t mind paying a little bit extra for the good service, Kodak Gallery is an excellent choice. Membership is free so it’s at least worth giving it a try to see if you like it.
